Biography David Secombe was born in London in 1962. He has been a freelance photographer since 1986, and his work has appeared in a wide variety of UK and foreign journals including The Sunday Times, Telegraph Magazine, Elle, Life, Paris-Match, Bunte, etc. For five years, he was a photographer for BBC Books and worked on a series of major projects focussing on the inner workings of British institutions: the Monarchy, the Foreign Office and the Royal Opera House. Alongside his editorial and commercial assignments, he has also developed his interest in performance as both a photographer and director. He has had solo exhibitions at the Barbican Centre and the Geffrye Museum and the National Portrait Gallery holds a selection of his portraits in its permanent collection. He lives in South London.
